Videos Galore
I’ve got a few video clips to help kick off your shiny new 2007:
- I’m so excited for Worms HD that I could pee myself. But will the Concrete Donkey make a return?
- Wario Ware: Smooth Moves has been my most desired Wii game since I first laid hands on it back at E3 (RIP). Fortunately for everyone, I’m fresh out of urine.
- This is a teeny tiny taste of gameplay from Mario Party 8 for the Wii, which I don’t think was ever officially announced but I think we all knew it was coming anyway. I wish I knew where this clip came from, partially because I hear the Smash Bros. Brawl music in the background.
In unrelated news, word on the tubes today is that editor-in-chief Greg Kasavin is leaving Gamespot after 10 years there. I don’t really keep up on game journalists the way that I maybe should, but Greg is one of the few folks whose work I’m really familiar with and respect. I actually had the good fortune to meet Greg a few years ago at E3, and while I’m sure the chance encounter was pretty forgettable from his perspective, I found him to be an instantly likeable guy. I still keep the business card I got from him along with a few other choice ones (like Tim Schafer) as a kind of personal memento. Or, you know, like a creepy stalker. Whichever.
Anyway, Greg is leaving to join an as of yet unnamed gaming studio. I’ll look forward to seeing what he puts out.

I can’t seem to view the Worms HD video. Every time I click the link, it just takes me to a different ad, and I can’t find a worms related link anywhere.
Worms over an internet connection is brilliant idea. I haven’t played in years though (I think the last one was an iteration on the Pocket PC) — I imagine kids are dead accurate nowadays.

Jeff, I’ve updated the post with a link to a slightly lower-rez version over on YouTube. I’m not sure what happened to the original link, and now I can’t seem to find Worms HD stuff on Gametrailers at all. Sad!

Ahhhh…old-school, high-pitched nostalgia. Worms, how I’ve missed you.
