Voice Command Technology Built into Xbox 360
Fonix (suggested slogan: “Shitty Spellers, Great Speakers!”) has signed on to provide in-box voice command support for the Xbox 360. Already utilized in some games on Xbox such as Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow and SWAT: Global Strike Team, the voice command functionality has worked pretty well for us in the past, even though it had a pretty gimmiky feeling to it.
Here’s to hoping that all the extra processing power in the 360 will provide for even more control with voice than we’ve seen in the past. It would be great to no longer have to wade through menus or toggle night vision.
The real question of course, is how will it work with grey aliens…
